Welcome back!
I'm going to a concert this weekenddddd. In Brooklyn. I haven't been to New York in a minute, like before summer even started. My sister's boyfriend Drew manages this kid named Carver Jones who is playing Saturday night, and I figured it'd be a good time to get out of town for a night or two.
Carver and his band actually slept at my house last night. They played a show in Tennessee and drove thirteen hours towards New York and crashed at my parents' house. When I came down this morning, I met Carver at the kitchen table. He was eating a pork roll, egg, and cheese that my dad cheffed up. My dad always has a spread going when we have company.
As we talked, it came up that he and the band (who were still asleep downstairs) are playing in New York this weekend. My sister and Drew are obviously going and invited my parents to come too, but since the show starts at 9:45, my mom agreed that she would be asleep in the crowd before they even went on.
Me, on the other hand, I love that stuff. Being in NYC with a live band and my sister is the cure (Olivia Rodrigo reference).
I'm going to go, and I'll let you know how it goes. I'm sure it'll be a blast. Just gotta make sure I have a fire fit.
